Reality-Will it set in?

Been saying this for years and I have not been the only one. So I doubt that anyone will listen. Grandeur and idealism must stay at the forefront in order to maintain the status quo.

Is This Really My Life??

The other day while I was mailing off some more of my blood earned money, I noticed something interesting. There was a crazy, homeless dude at the post office. He was just standing there at the counter and speaking. He looked disheveled yet dignified. His verbal content showed a higher level of cognition. It was almost as if he was giving a college level socioeconomic lecture. Nobody was there, yet out he spoke. His content was quite relevant. Yet nobody was listening.

This relates back to me. I talk a lot and teach my students; at least that is what it seems like. But they do not listen to me. It is like they just humor me or tolerate my presence in the room. This makes me wonder if I will one day be the guy standing somewhere delivering some lesson about something that folks cared not to hear about.

What do you think?

Gogol is the Man

Even from a young age Gogol was direct. In a letter to a chum he lists those around him in a vegetative state. He dreaded being one of these normal folks stuck in some small town. It sounds a lot like most people. From what I have seen in life, a lot of people are constantly struggling to be free the curse that Gogol feared. This might might be more true in America where everyone dreams of grandeur. And even more people come here and stand in line to get their share of the rich inheritance, unaware that they are drawing it from the account of someone else who then has no choice but to live the obscure curse, sometimes in a destitute state.

"I dread the thought that fate may cast me into some Godforsaken hole and make me play the part of a nobody in the world."

I know for me that this has been true. I may not seek the lead role in the stage of life. But all the same I do not seek to live a life of drudgery. All of that of course seems to be judged and determined by me, for me. So, being ever bound by the curse, no matter what transpires in my script of life, I may bind myself to believing that I have inherited the curse.

But that may or may be the case for other people who fall into the same lot in life. So, maybe not themself, but then who or what binds them to the curse. On the other hand, there are those that Gogol spoke, who vegetate. They are happy to live in that small hole of a place and do only the minuscule and little of that. How one can live that way, I do not know. How one can live with trying to defy the curse the other would also not know if they pondered such things. But it seems to me that the two types of people can scarcely live together. Also, they most likely cannot be in close contact for to long a time without possibly a fabric in this universe tearing apart. Furthermore, I believe the same to be true between those that are caught in defying the curse but in varying degrees and stages of the task.

What is Happening??

Just what is going on with this world? This game that has been around for a few years is really catching on to not only the youth in this land. The game, Guitar Hero; now in it's third installment. And that is not all. There are a few copy-cat and take-off games out there. This stuff is quite popular, even Parker and Stone ridiculed folks for their G-Hero likes in South Park. But for the holiday season Guitar Hero is being billed as a family game. Yes, family game! But take a look at the packaging and the advertisements. You know who that is? That is none other than Slash. We all remember him, right? Back in the day, he was billed as being satan. When I was a kid, he was satan. Anyone who listened to his music is going to hell. What changed? How can he be the face of family entertainment? No really, that wasn't rhetorical! What is going on?

Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut

Sometimes life doesn't work out like you had planned. But I guess that is just life.

So, one of the guests returned to retrieve some baggage. The guest claimed that the padlock did not come with a key. That seemed quite odd but I did not treat it as an impossibility cause, well.. yea. So, after trying to busy myself down and flag some help, I proceeded to cut the lock. Much to my chagrin, as I got about all of the way through the lock, I see the key in it. Sad thing, is that neither of us had noticed the key. Oh my! We did not feel too high on the hog at that point. I think that I felt like I needed some time off or something. But, that I will have sooner and in more abundance than I desire.

And Just When...

So I was thinking about my reunion and feeling a bit like I wish that I had been there. SO I decided to see if there were any pictures or information online. And much to my chagrin, it was canceled. That explains a lot. There was a reason about low attendance. That seems odd, cause when I was there it was the largest high school in the state. And now, not enough graduated folks can come together to have a reunion. I guess that I should not be surprised since I could not make it either. Maybe if they had chosen a different time then I would have been there. Maybe I should take it as a message or something.

Here It Is...

The new iphone is something else. There seems top be a lot of hype about it. But is it really as much as teh media portrays? Probably. But to put it all into perspecitve I saw a comic in the paper that does just that way better than even I could.

Well, What you do Know

So, well, some folks define themselves by what they believe in. I like to define myself at times by what I do not believe in. Sometimes this can present a tricky predicament. This weekend I not only saw a Wii, but played it and got to know it a bit. I have been maintaining that the Wii does not actually exist. That nobody knows exactly what is in the box but it is some regular system with some cool input devices There are of course display models that do not have a controller or any way to play them. But know, having played one, I at a loss of what to do or believe. But I think that I will still have to go with the position that the Wii does not exist. It is easier to believe in the impossible than to change yourself anyway. And the impossible, well, just feels comfortable.

PS: The sad thing about this weekend and the Wii is the occasion on which I played it. My nephew received one for his birthday. Now I have wanted one of these for a while cause when I first heard about it, I of course believes in its forthcoming existence. But I have not been receiving one, whereas my nephew being 23 years my junior has one... What a life. Where is the justice? (rhetorical question)

Now I Know

It happened to me today. At supper I had to wait a bit for the rice to become fully cooked. The significance you might ask? (well if you actually read this then you would) Many times have people had to wait for my rice and in some circumstances other goodies from me. This evening the shoe was on the other foot and so I walked a mile in that shoe.

But enough about me. Check out this pic. This is space saving to the third degree. I thought that those Dutch had the corner on space saving on the real estate but Korea is dogging them out.
See me.

So Long

Going to miss you, Mars Global Surveyor. It has been a good decade with you. But unfortunately I hear that a good thing cannot last forever. I guess that is good news for me. Too many Mars crafts have been lost. Furthermore, way too many due to human error. I mean come on folks! Especially after the metric/standard thing you could have pulled your heads out of the clouds. But I guess not. Well, there are still more crafts in and around Mars believe it or not. Maybe they upgrade their Scientist OS and keep these things from happening. NASA has been having a lot of personnel problems lately. Well, if you had hired me, then things might not be so bad.

You can check the above link out if you wish. I was trying to put a picture in but blog systems (not just this one) seem to be having some major problems.

Life is After All Funny

Well, it is April Fools day or something. It just does not seem to carry the same sting on a Palm Sunday. But nevertheless, American mass production (not actually done in America) will surely fill the gap. Of course on my calendar it lists April 1 as being April Fools day. It also still lists the religious holidays (for now). In addition, now get this one: it states today as daylight savings time beginning. Clocks one hour forward of course. I enjoyed reading that one. I wonder what else is in store for me this $-!-)&. And hopefully my calendar can give many more laughs cause I seem to be running dry lately.
