Damn This Screen is Wide

So..... It seems that I am back in Texas now. Still in the big city, now and next week, but I will get to go home this weekend. It should be nice. The flying and all of that went well. It was quite a long time, but for some reason it did not seem to bother me. I made it to the hockey game. It was a little like life, it is what you make of it or something. The refs were only calling half of the shots (of course) and the players let it get to them. But, at the end, you can either leave with a smile or you can go down fighting with the other team; your choice.

Homeward

Well, that time is here again. I will be leaving the Shelter City in Amsterdam. I am heading home. I have done this before, and like then I do not know what I will be doing at home. Hopefully I will find something productive to occupy my time because it was not fun at all this summer with nothing to do. But one fun thing though, I will be going to a hockey game on Friday. Well, as long as I find transport there. But it will be a great time, I have missed seeing and hearing the games of the Dallas Stars..... Also, it is dollar hot dog night so I will finally be able to afford something to eat at the game.

But, as I think of leaving here I have felt a bit sad. It is true that I do not want to leave but what can I do? I am starting to feel ok with leaving now. I think that I took my own advice and it is working for me. The goodby dinner for me tonight was great. A lot of folks showed and we had a really good time as well as some good food. I am not sure if I will return, but I do know that I want to come back.

Well, Another Day

It was another great day; even here. To start with, was the remembrance of the Star's win last night; that was a good one. Also, the Star's won tonight as well. They stomped the Coyotes on Tuesday. I got to go to that game with a bunch of folks from the center.

But today was absolutely gorgeous outside. It may have still been wet, muddy, and you wanted to stay away from the creek today. Which was ok cause the Trinity River actually started to resemble a river.



At some point I got to break free today and head out fishing. I thought I would try something new so I hit up Mountain Creek Lake. It was a nice place. I took a bunch of pictures of the park and such. The fishing did not go so well though. So I headed over to Joe Pool Lake to finish up the day. I did not do so well there either but had a good time. The water was up quite a bit at Joe Pool and so a bunch of junk was up against the shore and the fish were even farther away.

But anyway, the day was great; the sunset even nicer.

So its Va Hockey Day

So I tune in to my favorite teams game tonight. I pleasurably discover that they played a solid game and are leading going into the last period. Last period half over, still playing well. Then, that's it! They let the game go. The announcer even proclaimed that rigor mortis had set in on the team. They just give the game away in the last 10 minutes for no reason.

Am I looking at it wrong? Should I be happy that my team was winning and playing for almost all of the game? Or should I let reality sink in and realize that they schlubbed the end of the game. Because afterall, it is how you finish that counts right? If I have an 'A' in my Phonology course (which I currently do cause we've only had 1 assignment as of yet) for a good deal of the semester but then at the end have an 'F', then I do fail. All of the doing well just does not count.

Kind reminds me of life. You can be 'good' all of your life but mess it up and then check out. All of the good just did not amount to a hill of beans (which will not do you any good in the hereafter anyway).
